What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain After Taking Laxative Pill?

I am having what I believe is severe constipation. I took a laxative pill (orally) 4hrs ago & just had a small bowel movement. I am trying ginger tea, ginger ale, broth & water. Should I take another laxative pill? I have cramping in lower abdominal area already. I feel better if I can belch but can t seem to get them out. Any home remedy suggestions to relieve pressure/bloating?

Hello,

Based on your history, I suggest to drink a lot of water, eat soup and kiwi fruits and as well should walking a lot during this time in order to improve your bowel movement. Furthermore, you can continue to take a laxative pill.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Monika Dede,
