What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain And Gas With History Of Hysterectomy?
I have had several female surgeries leading up to a hysterectomy at the age of 27 I am now 55. When I was young I had ruptured appendix and got gangrene, causing all of my problems, such as scar tissue. I have lower abdominal pain on both sides, sometimes just one side at a time. It can affect walking, bad pain and I have an excessive amount of gas. Sometimes when the gas is passed it feels better for a while. The pain is very low, right above the crease on the very top of my leg. Any ideas you have would be helpful. Thanks
As you have undergone both a hysterectomy and an appendectomy both major causes have been ruled out. Although, as you have not mentioned anything about a bilateral salphingoopherectomy, I am guessing your ovaries are intact. I would thus recommend an ultrasound examination of your lower abdomen and pelvis for further evaluation.
Another option could be vascular damage as a result of the surgeries or scar tissue. You may have to consult a vascular surgeon for that.
Best wishes.
