What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain During An Intercourse?

A little tmi* I am on the mini pill but havn t breastfed for abit over a month. The other night my partner and I were having sex when I got this massive sharp pain deep in my lower belly, I have been to a doc but no sign of any infection and can t seem to find any reason for this. This evening if had very minimal spot bleeding and wondering if the pain is the start of a period as I havnt had one since being PP and that was 6 months ago, or if perhaps you have any idea what is going on. Thanks in advance

Hello,

If there is no sign symptom of any infection, then you need not worry. Sometimes during sex, there is spasm of pelvic organs. Menses onset may also cause pain.

If the pain during sex reoccurs, then please undergo ultrasound abdomen to rule out any uterine pathology. Also, undergo urine complete examination to rule out any urine infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
