What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain In A Hypertension Person?
My co-work is 57, female, smokes and has high blood pressure. For the past 3 months she has had lower abdominal pain that forced her to double over and leave work most days at 2 pm. About two weeks ago the pain became constant and so severe she went to the ER. She has had these tests done, all with unremarkable results: CAT scan of abdomen, colonoscopy, vaginal ultrasound. She has lost nearly 30 pounds in the past month and is extremely thin. I am concerned for her life at this point. She has not been able to come to work for the past 10 days. She is vomiting and can t keep food or liquids down. Can you point her in the right direction to get the needed medical diagnosis. Thank you.
She should consider asking her doctor for a referral to a gastroenterologist for assessment. A gastroenterologist specializes in conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract and may be able to assess her and determine what is the cause of her pain.
I hope this helps
