What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain Post Bilateral Oophorectomy?

I had a bilateral oophorectomy in November of 2015. Had a seroma in the umbilicus for 2 months post op, fine now. I recently have had increasing pain in the lower left quadrant of my abdomen. All GU systems working fine. I do know that at the time of my surgery much lysis of adhesions on the bowel was done. Is it all related???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you are having pain in the abdomen after bilateral Oophorectomy, you are suggested to see your gynecologist. Laparoscopic & robotic surgeries cause less postoperative pain & complications.

Get assessed to rule out any infection, nerve damage, the opening of the wound, injury to the urinary tract or bowel obstruction.

Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. Avoid strenuous exercises & stay away from stress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
