What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain?

I HAVE A SHEARING AND BURNING PAIN IN MY LOWER LEFT BELLY CLOSE TO BELLY BUTTON AREA. I NOTICED THIS WHEN I HAD LAUGHED REALLY HARD. I HAVE TO HOLD MY STOMACH WHEN I SNEEZE AND COUGH AND LAUGH. ALSO WHEN I STEP DOWN THIS ALSO HURTS, WHAT COULD THIS BE?

There are many possible causes for a pain in the lower left abdomen with these characteristic you have mentioned.
Most common causes are:
-Diverticulitis
-Stones in urinary tract
-Urinary tract infections
-Ovarian cysts
-Severe constipation can cause such symptoms.
It also might be just a muscle strain of your abdominal muscle if you have done any heavy exercise .
If this pain doesn't seem to improve you should consult a physician and get examined.
A detailed medical history and physician examination are necessary for the diagnosis.An abdominal ultrasound is needed.
