What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain, irregular Menstruation And Brownish Vaginal Discharge?

Hi Doc, I have been having mild right side lower abdomen pain past 2 months, irregular periods and brown discharge between periods and abdominal bloating the last 6 weeks or so. I had a baby via csect nearly 5 months ago but these issues started after my surgery seemed to have sorted itself out. My Gp sent me for an ultrasound, showed only a small amt of fluid remaining from surgery. Had a CT scan a week later which showed a 2.5cm cyst. (Likely to be ovarian) repeated ultrasound a week later and it was not shown on it. Something isn t right but doc brushes it off. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you are breastfeeding your child your period may be irregular, absent or spotting may happen also. Consult your gynecologist to do a vaginal ultrasound since it is more accurate and a laparoscopy may be needed for evaluation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
