What Causes Lower Back Pain And Abdominal Pain After Taking Prolia Shot?

I received my 4th injection for prolia on 2-17-17. This time I now have lower back pain and stomach pain I have mentioned this to my endocronologist and he says there are no side effects or his other patients haven t complained. Don t know is it s coincidental that maybe I have picked up a virus. The first and second injections bothered me somewhat. The 3rd one I didn t notice much reaction and now this 4th one seems to have thrown me again. I do take 40mg everyday of Prevacid for a nervous stomach anyway and fighting some anxiety right now. Could this all be coincidental. My dr. Makes feel like it s in my head and not a reaction

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be due to spine related problems like prolapsed disc and not related to prolia.

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
