What Causes Lower Back Pain And Blood In Stool?

Hi, I have been having lower back pain for awhile and I have noticed that there was blood when I wiped after going #2. I checked to see if there was any inside the stool but there was not. I haven t bleed ever since and i am wondering if its a hemorrhoid? If so, is it safe to take a fiber laxative?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Blood in stools can occur due to hemorrhoids or some growth in lower gastrointestinal tract.
I suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist for clinical assessment of the anal region.
If found to be normal, a lower gastrointestinal tract endoscopy of colonoscopy needs to be done for look for any source of bleeding.
Bleeding can be due to presence of ulcer, polyp or growth.

Thanks and take care
