Hi there,

Are you having any burning or discomfort with urination? Is your urine color normal? The reason I ask these questions is because you could have a kidney infection. The flank area or area on your back just below the rib cage is where your kidneys are located. Pain can radiate to the front so that may be the left sided abdominal pain you are feeling.
I would recommend that you see a doctor to have them do a urinary analysis on you. They will check for blood, white blood cells and your ph level. The other option that most doctors will do is to start you on an antibiotic for a kidney infection and see if your pain subsides. If not, they can further evaluate you by doing a ct scan, ultrasound or colonoscopy.

Good luck and I hope you feel better! :-)
