Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Lower Back Pain And Thigh Numbness After A Hysterectomy?
Was recently diagnosed with disc protrusion to S1 with mass effect, and spinal stenosis to L5, was having left lateral thigh numbness for the last 6 months, had a hysterectomy 2 months ago, began having lower back pain and the numbness in my lateral thigh is now similar to road rash when air hits it. like raw nerves... Am hoping this was due to me lying in semi-fowler/putting pressure on my lumbar region for 6 weeks.... Just got cleared back to work as a medic on ambulance. Will being active help or will I need to see neurologist and start steroids, PT.....etc. would like to try least evasive treatments first...
I suggest you visit a neurosurgeon rather than visiting a neurologist as it might need an invasive procedure for your disc eventually you have to go for the same even after taking medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
