What Causes Lower Back Pain And Weakness In The Legs?
So recently I have been getting lower back pain... over a month ago I had a sprained ankle but was nothing serious..... 2 weeks later I learn that I had a cyst near my coccyx which was drained and is much better now....lower back pain is the issue now and also seems to be a small weakness in my legs but nothing is dysfunctional all muscles are active and I can still feel them but they just seem fatigued almost but nothing big just small weakness.... I went to walk in clinic and they said it could be chronic pain they prescribed me Teva-naproxen which kinda helps but only for few hours .... but currently my back pain isn t sharp it s like dull.... should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi,
Your problem can be due to back muscle strain or lumbo sacral disc prolapse. A physical examination by orthopedician and X-ray of Lumbosacral spine will be helpful to rule out the condition. Applying hot water bags on back. Taking combination of analgesics like Ibuprofen and muscle relaxants like chlorzoxazone will be helpful to get relief.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
