What Causes Lower Back Pain Radiating To The Bladder?

Im having pain in my back on my left side middle way down to just above my hip. The area is also sensitive to touch. At times its intense and spreads across my back and my bladder feels uncomfortable. Im also bloated. All this started Monday a few hours after I tried to lift something so I cant determine if its a kidney stone or pulled muscle. I haven t seen any blood in my urine. what do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suggested to visit ER, get CBC, Urinalysis (R/E & C/S). Discomfort & pain in the bladder can be due to UTI.

You need antibiotics, presently you can take antacids & PPI's to help reduce the bloating.

Your treating doctor may tell you to do some Imaging tests to rule out Kidney stones ot other kidney issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
