What Causes Lower Back Pain Which Extends To The Outer Calf Of Leg?

I SUDDENLY DEVELOPED LOWER BACK PAIN WHICH EXTENDS TO THE OUTER CALF AND UNDER THE ARCH OF MY LEFT FOOT. PAIN WAS SOMEWHAT MANAGEABLE FOR THE FIRST WEEK, LOTS OF IBUPROPHEN. I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND WAS PRESCRIBED A STEROID AND MUSCLE RELAXANT. I RESTED FOR 2 DAYS AND FELT A LITTLE BETTER UNTIL I BENT OVER IN THE SHOWER AND HAD A SEVERE SPASM AND COULD BARELY STAND UP. NOW IN SEVERE PAIN, CANNOT WALK AND WAS PRESCRIBED PERCOSET UNTIL I CAN SEE AN ORTHROPEDIC SURGEON TOMORROW. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?

I really appreciate, your concern such pain could be due to some spine disk disease and this need to be investigated and best option would be MRI, if this turns unremarkable then it may be due to fibromyalgia hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.
