What Causes Lower Back Pain While Suffering From An Enlarged Prostate?

I m a 63 yr. old Itailian male, and have started working after a 2 year layoff. Physical work. My question is, I have an enlarged prostate, that I take flomax for daily, well this morning I got up to go to the bathroom and noticed that my urine was a pinkish burgandy color. After working for a few hours, the color was getting darker, after lunch it turned into a rusty brown color. and then again this evening it was blood red. I do have lower back pain from being outta shape but other than that, no pain. what could it be?

Hello,

Low back pain in a patient with an enlarged prostate and bloody urine warrants investigations. You will need to have urine analysis, and probably a prostate examination and blood tests called PSA.

The doctor may ask for imaging of the back (x-ray or CT scan) in case he thinks the back pain is related to the prostate. This is to rule out tumors of the prostate.
