Hello, I have had the mirena for 5 years with no periods and light spotting every so many months. My removal date was june 20th to be removed but due to my yearly checkup it got pushed back until the 19 of july. I have been experencing lower back pain, stomach cramps that come and go, and extreme exhaustion for the past week. I have had sex quite a few times using the "pull out" method everytime. I haven't taken any test to see if I am pregnant yet, but can it be possible that I am?
Hello, As the efficacy of the contraceptive dwindles, chances of conception rise. Another possibility is an impending period as the hormone effect is likely to have waned. If you suspect pregnancy, please get a blood test done for better clarification. HPT may not be of much use for you. A sonogram of the pelvis, preferably through the trans-vaginal route, is useful to know the status of the pelvic organs and also to locate the position of the IUD. Pull-out method of intercourse has high failure rate. Hope this helps.
