What Causes Lower Backache And Vomiting?

My wife felt sick today with pain in the lower back and vomit that was a white sandy, she does have chromes and last fall had 2/3 of her large bowl removed. She has had a consistent pain on her left side lower since the surgery but has had ct scan and ultra sound of the area with no answers, I know this is a double question Thanks
