What Causes Lower Left Quadrant Back Pain?

In April 2014 I woke with a sharp pain in left lower quadrant of back. Pain is now chronic ache across entire back with sporadic knife-like stabs under right shoulder blade. Have had mri, phys therapy, and diagnostic injection in spine with no dx to date. It feels like muscle strain, especially when moving or trying to get up. Acetometaphin and heating pad allow sleep. Could this be fibromyalgia or if not, what? Local doc has no answer. Oh, I am 71 years old with mild chronic kidney disease. I just want to relieve the pain. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
A stone in the kidney usuaslly causes pain in the back lower quadrant and you need to consult urologist who will do appropriate investigations to r/o the sameand can do the needful. and also you need to take adequate fluids(8-10 glasses due to your chronic kidney disease ) and fruits whcih will help in washing away the stones as well as maintaining health. muscle pains during moving are common in 70s and all you can do is to adapt your life style like doing some form of exercise like walking along with proper balanced diet with less salt and oil and application of oils like wintergreen oil or any other oils for pain or volini gel application if pain is more.tablets (pain killers)other than paracetamol better to be avoided for pain.
