What Causes Lump At The Back Of Calf Muscle Interfering While Doing Cardiac Exercise?

I have a lump on the back of my calf muscle it does not hut when pressed and there is no pain, I noticed it a couple weeks ago and was not sure what it was. I have started going running frequently and the lump appeared after I was out running as I noticed it when I got in. I am not sure whether to go and see a GP because the lump is stopping me from doing any cardio workouts. I do not know what to do any help is appreciated. thanks, Kieran

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the lump over back of calf muscles interfering with cardiac exercise may be in concern with soft tissue lesion compressing certain underlying nerve structures depicting
pain. As there is limitation in the exercise and range of movement, it is a must to consult your primary care physician to rule out lipoma, sebaceous cyst, popliteal cyst or other lesion.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
