What Causes Lump Behind The Ear And On Top Of Head?

Hi, My son is 23 months old, a few days ago i noticed a hard lump behind his ear, also his hairdresser noticed a biggish lump on the top of his head but it doesn t seem like the same kind of lump. I am a little worried, i have made an appointment with the GP for tomorrow but wondering if i should be worried, i always relate lumps to Cancer... please help!!

Hi.

Cancer is unlikely, and the lump on top could be a result of an injury and if so will subside on its own. The lump behind the ear can be a result of an infection or even an extra growth which is common in children. Let your doctor go about a physical examination and imaging studies if required, I am sure this is nothing serious.
