What Causes Lump Feeling And Burning Sensation In Throat?

My symptoms are a icy hot sensation in my throat and mouth and a lump sensation in my throat. The only way I've found I can alleviate the discomfort is by eating, drinking or chewing gum. It's not painful but a very annoying feeling. I've had this 24/7 for over a month now. My doctor does not believe it is acid reflux, so what could it be?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain burning sensation in throat along with feeling of a lump that relieves on taking food, drinking or chewing gum can be due to a few causes like Acid reflux, laryngopharyngeal reflux, throat inflammation etc..
The cause can be confirmed only after a thorough clinical evaluation like laryngoscopy, upper G.I Endoscopy etc.
Once the cause is confirmed treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now you can do warm saline gargles, take a soft diet and avoid spicy, acidic and hot foods.
Drink plenty of water ..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
