I just want to know is it a bad existence ? Why it exist and does it cause any harm? When i touch it and press it, i doesn t feel any pain or any discomfort... Its size just like a small nut.... I d looking forward for your answer
The lower part of sternum is a bit prominent normally, and is called xephoid process. This may feel like a small lump there. Probably, you are talking about this only, and need not be worried. See your doctor only if it is progressively enlarging or becomes painful or tender.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
