Dr. Grief, thank you for allowing my inquiry here. FYI I haven t been to see a doctor in over six years. However I ve recently noticed a rather small lump (gland?) that has appeared on my neck, below my chin. There s a minimal amount of soreness. However the growth is not extremely noticeable to the general public, because I haven t heard any comments from anyone. I m 57 years old. slightly overweight being 6 0 tall and weighing 190 pounds. I m thinking I may have an infection, hopefully minor, that needs attention. I m currently unemployed and have no medical insurance. When a convenient opportunity arises, please advise. Thank you again, Eddy Lumpkin
Hi, From history it seems that you might be having enlarge sub mandibular region. It indicates that you might be having some sub clinical infection in the mouth, teeth, gums, throat producing this problem. Nothing to worry, non specific lymphadenitis is common and you can ignore if there is not active infection or size of lymph node increases. ok and take care.
