Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, a week ago i started having pain in my outer left foot causing me to limp for the day - the next day I woke up and could not walk at all - I could not put any weight on my foot whatsoever - I went to the emergency room after 3 days of hopping on my other leg, and they did an xray which did not show a break - this came on suddenly, with no injury at all - I had to get a set of crutches and it s been a week and I still cannot walk on it. The doctor at the hospital did not have an explanation for this and seemed quite baffled since I did nothing to hurt it.
It may be a gout or acute joint inflammation due to infection or crystal deposition or fluid retention etc. So keep your limb on elevated position, use tablet Lyser D for five days. If symptoms not improved please get it done serum uric acid levels and CRP. Review with reports or consult with your orthopedician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
