My two year old has a pea size bump on the back of his head behind his ear . I felt it today . I m not sure when he got it . He hasn t hit his head at all in the past 3 days . Could he still have a bump from 3 days ago ? I m thinking about calling his doctor in the morning .
Hi! Good evening. i am Dr Shareef answering your query.
It seems that your son has got a post auricular lymph node, which could occur due to any kind of infection draining the area. Once your doctor sees it, he might do a general physical examination of your son with special attention to the head and neck region and oral cavity with the nose and ear. There is no need to be of much concern, as once the infection is treated, the lymphadenitis also gets relieved.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
