The lump on your hand is due to collection of blood (hematoma) due to bleeding from the damaged blood vessel. Bleeding is an important side effect of blood thinner. In order to adjust the dose of the blood thinner you are advised to undergo simple prothrombin time and INR which should be in the normal ranges.
