What Causes Lump On The Neck Under Skin?

Yes, I have a lump on my neck under skin. It does not hurt but pretty noticeable. I am female and it doesn t stick out like an adamsapple and not in center of neck but to the left of center. What type of doctor should I make an appointment with? I am 56 years old.

Hello,
Thanks for the concern. You have lump in neck which left of centre. There are many causes of lump in area but most commonly it may be due to thyroid. You have to check the level of thyroid hormone in blood and consult the general surgeon for it.
If your thyroid hormones are normal than it might be thyroglossal cyst or may be other infection.
So immediately consult the general surgeon for further assistance.
