What Causes Lump Underneath The Arm?

Dear Sir/ Madam, I have just discovered a lump underneath my arm and having looked it up online, I am worried. I will go to a doctor if the lump persists for over a week, however, could you help me learn what it can be? I noticed it as I was applying apd after showering. It is painless and when I touch it. The skin seems fine and I can t feel that movable block you get when infection makes lymph nodes swell up in your throat. When I move the skin to the side, the lump remains in place as if something pushes the tissue from the inside. It s about 3 cm in width and 2 in height so about an inch in diameter. It isn t raised much. I have no other symptoms, other than 3 brief episodes of vertigo 5 months back (1 month apart and getting lighter) and one 4-second one last week. I just kept walking down the street after 22hrs of no sleep due to doing the night shift at work. I presumed these were the cause of not getting enough sleep and anxiety of which I have a lot. It says online that night sweats are an alarm. I ve had about a month of those 3 years ago but they went away completely. I don t know if this is related. Google immediately brought me to a forum about people who had lymphoma but their doctors insisted otherwise, which made me concerned. Again, I will visit a doctor in real life too in one week time if the lump stays. I have attached 2 photos of the lump in case you need them. http://i.imgur.com/lX0I9wf.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xWFuKnt.jpg

It could be lipoma, muscle growth, an abscess or enlarged lymph node. But you said that it is painless and not movable, so there is more chance of muscle growth. You have not mentioned your age/sex, whether lump is pulsating or not. So definite diagnosis could only be possible after checkup and if required then biopsy. So my advice is go for checkups....do not delay....because everything will feel bad when you ill.
