What Causes Lump With Black Centre On The Corner Of Mouth?
I thought I was getting a cold sore on the corner of my mouth but now I see a black dot in the middle of the tiny bump, is that normal for a cold sore, I dont normally get them and I also have 2 canker sores on the inside of my mouth on the same side .
As per your complain a bump at the corner of mouth with a a black dot in the centre can be an obliterated duct of sebaceous gland with dust particle leading to swollen gland and the black dot is due to dust in the duct.. Cold sores are mostly in clusters and are fluid filler blisters while canker sores commonly occur inside mouth and are not of the appearance like the one you have.. One more common cause of a bump with a black dot can be Folliculitis or hair follicle infection.. You can consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and in case if it is a clogged sebaceous duct, application of glycolic acid and benzoyl peroxide containing gels can help.. In case of hair follicle infection antibiotic ointment and oral antibiotics can resolve.. Wash your face frequently using a mild fashwash..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
