Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Dr. I am looking for a Dermatologist because I have had a place on the outside of my upper lip for several plus years. Recently however, I noticed two lumps on the inside of my mouth that will no go away. I also have a place on my side that will not heal and has been there for approximately two years. I have been a tanning bed lover for as long as I can remember, however this winter I have stopped all tanning because of the sore place on my side because of soreness. I have even covered the area but it doesn t seem to help in any way. Do u think it could possibly be cancer?

Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. S. Samanta's Response
Hi! welcome to HCM and thanks for sharing your experience of lumps inside the mouth.
Well, if I WERE YOUR PRIMARY PHYSICIAN I WOULD LIKE TO ASSURE FIRST THAT THESE ARE not serious things and just kind of benign or inflammatory lesions like mucus retention cysts, infection of the minor salivary glands or kind of benign fibro-epithelial polyps....
Therefore, please don't worry about this as this could not be cancerous but see a general physician for a direct examination and opinion.
regards!
