What Causes Mark On Upper Lip After Having Endoscopy?
About a year ago I had and endoscopy and after the procedure, I noticed a mark on my upper lip, looks similar to a blood blister but it is over a year and it has not gone away. Could this have been caused by the apparatus they put on my mouth to keep the mouth open for the procedure. It does not hurt, just bothers me being there. I m in reasonably good health, female, age 64.
Hi. As per your case history you are probably having a pyogenic granuloma. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 4. Other treatment options are cryotherapy, cauterization or laser ablation done by a dermato-surgeon.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
