Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 67 old active male...recently told that I need to have both knees and both shoulders replaced. I have had meniscus surgeries and two rotator cuff surgeries. I have been on 40 mg symvastatin for the past 10-15 years. I have had some memory loss...more than I would like. Could this be b/c of the statin drug? Gary Lang
It is not related to simvastatin. We have to rule out possible other causes like Alzheimer’s. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
