What Causes Menstrual Changes And Brown Smelly Discharge After Birth Control Implant?

Hey. I got on birth control a year ago. The one that goes in my arm. My boyfriend and I have sex only with each other. My periods are different sometimes longer and sometimes shorter. Is that normal? Also after every period I have a brown smelly discharge. Is that normal?

The symptoms seem to be related to the birth control implant.
You may have longer or shorter periods or very light or no menstrual bleeding at all.
You may also have brown discharge (old blood). This discharge is common as your body adjusts to the hormone medicine in the implant, which can take one or more months to stop.
