What Causes Menstrual Irregularities?

I haven t had a period in 6 weeks, I have taken two pregnancy tests and both negative. I am 38 years old, wake up hot, sweaty in middle of night..crampy like I will start, but wont start. I feel swollen in breasts and stomach, have gained some weight last several months. Not sure why I am not having monthly, not sure if could be pre-menopause, or fybroid cysts, or stress..Just interested in your advice.

Delay in periods might be due to many conditions like stress, low birth weight, obesity, PCOS etc.
I advice you to,
- Encourage normal activities & YOGA & stress free exercises.
- Hot compress in abdomen & back
- Take nutritious diet
- Avoid food containing caffeine, alcohol
- Cap. Meftalspas 1-1-1 for cramps
- Take iron & calcium supplements
- watch for next cycle. If same problem persist consult your gynaecologist for further assistance.
