What Causes Menstruating Twice A Week On Taking I Pill?

I had normal periods and had sex a week later...took i pill although tried coitus interruptus. But then again got periods after 1 week (that means menstruating twice this month). I have faced this a fee times before too.. what is the reason for this? Can it lead to any serious problems like infertility?
