I started taking the petogen injection last year July after I have birth..the problem is I have small period if I have sex with my partner and am still breastfeeding. A Nurse said the injection neutralise my hormones so that the eggs are not produced. I want to understand if this period shows that the injection is not good for my body as am seeing small period or should I keep trying it I won t get pregnant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Petogen injections tend to cause irregular bleeding in some patients and it might be a possible side effect of it.
On the other hand because the bleeding is related to intercourse you might need to have a gynecological examination and possibly a pap smear taken to rule out other causes of bleeding like cervical cancer or infection and depending on your age endometrial problems (if you are over 35 years of age).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
