What Causes Menstruation And A Spotting Every Month?

Hi, I've had my period twice in one month and it has happened a couple of times now. I have a normal period for 3-5 days and then nothing for about a week and then I have some light spotting for one or two days. I just want to make sure everything is okay because this seems weird to me.
