What Causes Metallic Taste After Coughing While Recovering From Pneumonia?

Recovering from pneumonia, but have a strong metallic taste after I cough. X-rays show something in the back lower left lobe. Doctors not concerned about cancer; say it's an inflammation or infection. Have put me on Augmentin but haven't started yet.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

With a history of pneumonia , it is quite possible that this area is related to this infection.

Pneumonia can cause significant changes on x ray.

The use of the antibiotics would help to treat your infection.

If the changes remain a long time after the infection has been appropriately treated then you can be reassessed.

I hope this helps
