What Causes Metallic Taste In Mouth Post Gallbladder Removal?

Hello, I had my gallbladder pulled on the 16. and I have been experiencing a metallic taste in my mouth. The glue also came off of the incision early and my family is not allowing me to rest after being sent home from the hospital early. What should I do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have metallic taste in mouth post gallbladder removal. Well after gallbladder removal there can be problem of acid reflux , which can cause taste like metallic taste in mouth . I would suggest you to eat light and non spicy , eat small and frequent meals , take antacid after every meal and keep you head elevated while sleeping . Consult gastronetrologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe proton pump inhibitor , H2 blockers or doctor may also refer you to dentist for dental problem . For now maintain proper dental hygiene .
