What Causes Metallic Taste In Mouth?

I have been taking Sugar Free Ricola on and off for a few days. I noticed today that my tongue is dark and I have a metallic taste in my mouth. Could these cough drops be the culprit? I aso just finished a Z-pack for a sinus infection. Just checking.
