What Causes Microalbuminuria In A Diabetic Patient?
My lipid profile is normal. I am a diabete. Now my microalbuminuria is 35 after an initial finding of 90, three months ago. My diet is without sugar, salt, and protein. 2 glasses of milk 1 in the morning 1cup at night. Asked to totally avoid non vegetarian diet, nor pulses or nuts, surfing on some rice vegetables and one fruit a day orange/apple/ small slices of papaya. I am 64 years old. My question is can I revert albuminuria to normalcy, what protein &how much can I take. Please advice. Thank you. Amaladoss Gnanapragasam, Hyderabad, India.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, first of all Microalbuminuria can be diagnosed from 24 hour urine collection and it should be tested for at least for three occasions and upper limit of 300 mg/24 hours would be abnormal, second under lying cause of this is matter of concern because this could be due to 'Diabetes, Hypertension, infection, and these need to be managed well else any diet has got no significant role, hope this information helps, take care.
