What Causes Migraine And Dry Mouth After Taking Sertraline?

My daughter has been on 50mg Sertraline for 4 days. She has experienced acute migraines for the last 2 days and has had a dry mouth and some slight itching on her legs. She is pale and today had a light coloured stool. She has no other pain nor is her skin yellow just wondering if this is just a side effect that will eventually right itself or does she need to see our GP? Just dnt want to jump the gun since she has only been on this drug for a few days and has made a huge difference in her level of anxiety and general mood.

As per your complain Sertraline is an anti-depressant medication and is used to treat depression and anxiety disorders..
The symptoms that your daughter is experiencing that is of having migraines and also dry mouth and itchy legs and pale stools are due to side effects of the medication..

At times it can take a few days for the body to adjust with the medication and gradually the symptoms of the side effects will resolve but in case if the symptoms does not improve, then you need to consult her treating physician and get evaluated and a reduction in dose of the medication or change in the drug can help in relief..

As of now you can give her sugar free chewing gums and plenty of water to relieve dry mouth..
Give her a soft diet..
Give her plenty of rest..
