What Causes Migraine Headaches And Lower Back Pain Post Intake Of Prednisone?

i am 20 weeks pregnant. and my physician i am seeing not my obgyn doctor but the other day he prescribed me prednisone, with that said. he knew i had active hep c . my lab results for my other doctor had came back, and my count was really high to high in fact, and giving also that i m pregnant makes it worse. i felt fine until just a couple hours ago. i took it for the first time, i immediately got a migrane my lower back is aching. my neck, my stomach is hurting sharp pains. and i cannot breathe.. what do i do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have migraine headaches and lower back pain post intake of Prednisone . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like acute back injury , whiplash , sciatica , osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia. I would suggest you consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may CT scan or MRI along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory , muscle relaxant nerve supplement, anti emetic drug along with physical therapy. For now apply warm compresses to back and neck and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Doctor may also recommend surgery in case of disc problem. Also avoid bending forward. Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for migraine.
