What Causes Migraines After Removing Glasses?

Hi, I just got glasses and whenever I take them of I get a migraine on the left side of my head. I can see clearly without glasses, but I have had a few optic migraines in the past so my eye doctor wanted me to get some. He said I only need to wear them for watching tv, driving, computer etc, but I can t seem to take them off without get a headache a minute later. The prescription for my glasses are, Right: Sphere -0.25 Cylinder -0.50 Axis 160 Left: Sphere -0.50 Cylinder -0.50 Axis 012 . My eye doctor also said I have an astigmatism, if that has anything to do with it. Thanks!

Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having recurrent attacks of migraine.
This is usually not related yo refractive error or use of glasses.
Migraine requires treatment by the use of anti- migraine drugs and analgesics in the acute episode.
The recurrent attacks require treatment by prophylactic drugs like propranolol or flunarizine.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Do write back yo me for further questions.

Thank you

Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having refractive error in the form of astigmatism.
The headache on removing the glasses is probably because of astigmatism and axis of the cylindrical lens.
Hence this requires re-evaluation of the vision and refraction.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.
