What Causes Migraines?

I went to the er room last week for migraines. Ive had them off and on for years now and finally had my first ct scan. I was looking at the results today and it said I had cerebellar tonsillar ectopia. I looked it up online and wonder if this is something I need to worry about. I ve never been to a neurologist and my headaches occur every couple of weeks.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello dear,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
Recurrent headache episodes in presence of cerebellar ectopia are well explainable clinically. However,it is apparent that they are not causing any cerebrospinal fluid obstruction or any long tracts compression. So,they are not causing any emergent situation at present. However,it is in your interest to meet a neurosurgeon and discuss with him whether it is the time for tonsillar repositioning surgery, which can probably alleviate your headache episodes.I hope it helps.
