What Causes Mild Abdominal Pain Along With Constant Burps?
I took PEG 3500 on Monday night and Tuesday morning early because I was scheduled to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy at 10:20 Tuesday morning. I didnt go to the bathroom but once that whole time. When I arrived the receptionist told me That my appointment was cancelled and they tried to call me several times. Which isnt true. I have one message from their office on Friday telling me to be there at 10:20 and pick up the prep at the pharmacy. To not eat and drink the prep ...etc...And I did. The doctor did not speak to me...neither would a nurse. I waited for that appointment for five months . I was upset. I was not informed of this. I drank the prep and did not eat and that was no fun. and waited five months and all she could tell me that very morning was that the doctor wanted me to be treated for c diff. I had been diagnosed with C diff toxin a and b 2 years ago on 5/27/2014. I took and finished both prescriptions for it. have since had much blood testing and cell testing done..no one had mentioned to me that I had to be treated again. and I dont understand whats going on now. im left in the dark. I am now concerned that since I drank the prep I havent been able to use the bathroom and I feel very bloated and havent been able to expell gas for 2 days now. In a little pain and have been burping a lot...Can anyone shed some light please..?!?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of mild abdominal pain along with constant burps . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like consuming foods known to cause gas in some people, such as milk products that contain lactose, broccoli, appendicitis, crohn’s disease, gastroenteritis, irritable bowel syndrome or urinary tract infection. Need not to worry. You should take plenty of fluids. I would suggest you to avoid above mentioned foods , eat light and non spicy specially at night , take light walk after every meal , eat small and frequent meals. If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy along with stool test . Doctor may prescribe laxative , anti inflammatory along with antacids . Drink glass of warm water thrice a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
