What Causes Mild Anemia With Gallstones And Splenomegaly?

Hi, I recently had an abdomen ultrasound. The results listed I had numerous gallstones and the largest measures 10mm as well as having a mild splenomegaly. In the recent bloodwork, I found out that I am now fully anemic and in the past I was always borderline anemic. Are the three diagnosis caused simultaneously?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

A history of anemia, gall stones and splenomegaly are suggestive of hemolytic anemia. I suggest you to consult a hematologist to look for underlying cause of hemolytic anemia.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
