Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Mild Bleeding Post Sex During Menopause Stage?
yes, I am 53 and I am in the menopause stage. I have not had a period for over a year. I am still very sexually active with my husband. We had intercourse and it was painful, I believe from dryness inside, we used lubricant but I was very sore after and had light spotting of blood. today i seemed to be bleeding more but not enough to need a pad or anything, only when i urinate and wipe there is enough blood to be concerned. in the last 2 hours I was having cramp like symptoms so i came home took 4 advils and layed down. the pain has stopped for the most part, so I am wondering if I might have just tore the skin inside and just needs to heal? or should I see a physician. Is there anything else I could or should be doing?
I think you should visit a gynaecologist. A trauma is possible as well as any other issues of column uteri so a colposcopy is needed. Also, a pap smear is needed. There is a possibility that dryness and mucosa atrophy may have caused it but you should get examined.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
