What Causes Mild Burning Sensation In The Arm?

About two weeks ago was doing things at home and went to move my left arm. Suddenly it felt like an electrical shock in the back of my left arm (tricep area). Only lasted a few seconds and went away. A few days later in the same area a mild burning sensation started and still continues. It does not hurt to move, just feels like a sunburn.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a neuropraxia, which is nothing but a minor irritation of nerve endings, mostly it will settle by itself.

If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated. In severe cases a nerve conduction study may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
