What Causes Mild Fever Along With Dizziness And Chronic Cough?

hi, so I've had a mild fever, no voice, i get really dizzy when i stand, i cough to the point where i gag, and i ache all over(i feel like I've been hit by a bus), and i can't control when i cough. My coughing sounds like theres mucus in my throat, but i don't cough anything up. I also have a really bad headache (i rarely get headaches). Is it just the flu? or is it something different?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of mild fever along with dizziness and chronic cough which is due to upper respiratory track infection leading to bronchitis/ granular pharyngitis. The symptoms like dizziness can also occur due to ear problem like ear infection I would suggest you to start with course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications. You should do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day. Avoid use of sharp and spicy food substances , apply dry warm compresses on external ear. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Your symptoms will resolve in 1 week. if symptoms keeps on persisting you should consult ENT specialist and take proper treatment. You should get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) at least for 5 days along with decongestant. Also drink green teat with ginger thrice a day and avoid bending forward.
